1, Export Procedures for Natural Wood Furniture

When exporting natural wood furniture products such as tables, chairs, and beds after processing, in addition to the customs declaration dossier, the company must provide a legal timber dossier as required in Clause 1, Article 17 of Circular 01/2012/TT – BNNPTNT dated January 4, 2012.

*The timber origin documentation includes:

– If purchased from domestic wood processing factories:

  • Sales invoices in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Finance.
  • Timber list with confirmation from the local forestry agency.

– If purchased from individual farmers:

  • Timber list with confirmation from the local authorities, such as the People’s Committee of the ward or commune.

– If importing raw wood materials from foreign countries:

Natural wood furniture with an origin of imported materials from foreign countries, which are then manufactured into products such as tables, chairs, cabinets, etc. To export this furniture, we need to submit the declaration form upon importing the raw wood.

– Export documentation for natural wood furniture:

  • Import declaration (if the raw wood is imported)
  • Purchase invoices when buying natural wood materials from factories.
  • Timber list.
  • Invoice (commercial invoice)
  • Packing list
  • Contract
  • Bill of Lading
  • Fumigation certificate

2, Export Procedures for Engineered Wood Furniture

Furniture items made from engineered wood (MCF, MDF, etc.) follow export procedures similar to regular goods, as regulated by Circular 38/2015/TT-BTC. These items are not listed in the prohibited import-export category.

– Export documentation for engineered wood furniture:

  • Invoice (commercial invoice)
  • Packing list
  • Contract
  • Bill of Lading
  • Fumigation certificate

Note: If the goods are packed in wooden crates or pallets, fumigation is required for untreated wood types.
